Anbu Illam is a home for destitute people in Ponneri. The home has few means, and was started in 1998 in a humble thatched hut, but is undauntingly taking on the care and shelter of homeless and abandoned children. 40 boys and girls now live under the care of this home.
The home helps the children secure a wholesome, well-rounded education not only in academics but also in sports and spirituality. On weekends and holidays, the children are taken on excursions and field trips.
Apart from this challenging task, the home also regularly feeds mentally impaired people living on the streets.
Founded and run by Mr. Dayanidhi, the home is running successfully with the help of generous minded citizens.
