Udhavum Ullangal is a charitable organization that
undertakes various causes such as:

running awareness campaigns about blood, eye and
body donation, and bringing together registered donors

Driving the “pidi-arisi” (a handful of rice)
charity scheme, by which every Sunday, 50 impoverished families receive mid-day
meals and 5 kilograms of rice

Eye care camps organized every second Tuesday of
the month

Providing Rs.40,000 worth of school supplies to
impoverished school children

Encouraging those celebrating their birthdays,
wedding anniversaries etc to make their event special by visiting orphanages and old-age homes to offer
their assistance

Collecting recyclable waste and encouraging
clean, sanitary surroundings

Arranging for honorable last rites and cremation
or burial of orphaned, mentally impaired individuals

Organizing rescue teams to assist during natural
calamities

Organizing a comedy event the first Sunday of
every month

Medical help to suffering animals, promoting the
welfare and ethical treatment of animals
Headed by R. Chandrasekaran, Udhavum Ullangal is a
successful organization today with branches serving 11 towns.
