In the semi-rural community of
Sengundram where basic education fails to meet expectations, the DMS society
strives to bring quality higher education and vocational training to aspiring
students.
This society tutors students from
Alamadi and other villages near Sengundram, and helps them perform well in
board exams. Apart from academic education, the society teaches their students
practices for maintaining physical and mental health.
Computer courses and vocational
trainings are also part of the society’s agenda. It organizes yearly contests in
various fields among students and awards prizes and recognitions.
Further, the society runs a
permanent medical camp to serve the people of this region. Every Saturday, it also
runs a free meal program in honor of Kamakshi Baba, a saint who is buried here.
Functioning under the leadership
of Mr. Suresh, the 10 year old Divine Mother Society has been setting a fine
example to the young residents of Sengundram.
