Samarpana

Samarpana is a home and rehabilitation center for orphaned or socially abandoned physically and mentally impaired children. The home was started in a small rented house in 1994, and is now established in a building that houses 40 individuals.

Apart from resident children, the center also accepts day scholars from surrounding regions who are given special transport to and from the facility, trainings, therapy, yoga classes and afternoon meals.

The children studying here receive training in communication skills, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. There is also a counseling center for parents of children with special needs.
As part of vocational training, the students are trained in candle making, paper envelope making, gardening, detergent making etc.

On festivals and public holidays, Samarpana organizes recreational events like theater, competitions etc. The students are also often taken on tours and excursions.

Samarpana was founded and is run by Mr. Sridhar and Mrs. Bhavani Sridhar, the latter an award winning social worker.
