Shreyans Foundation is a
pioneering service organization operating out of Chennai. The focus of this
foundation is primarily in bringing relief to areas affected by natural
calamities.
Shreyans has played a vital role
in flood relief in Assam, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. During the plague outbreak
in Surat, the foundation actively organized for medical camps and distributed
10,000 medicine packs.
Shreyans conducted a survey about
leprosy in India, and organized for special medical camps for those afflicted
with the disease. With the help of Lion's Club, Shreyans conducted Polio
awareness camps, and through trainings and therapy, helped several polio
afflicted persons to walk again.
During the 2004 Tsunami, Shreyans
was totally committed to bringing relief to Nambiargramam, a village near
Nagapattinam, which was one of the worst hit areas in Tamil Nadu.
Thanks to charitable
contributions from all over the world, Shreyans helped Indiranagar, a town near
Kadalur, Tamil Nadu, acquire a water purification system worth Rs. 25 lakhs.
Every year on the 15th
of August, starting from the 50th year of Indian independence,
Shreyans organizes free meals for the poor.
During a period of heavy flooding
in northern Tamil Nadu, Shreyans identified the village of Jagirmangalam near
Arakkonam which was entirely cut off by flood waters, and rushed medical help
to the people and livestock marooned in the village.
In collaboration with the Stella
Marie's College community workers, Shreyans organized a medical camp
specifically for residents of the Pazhaverkadu area in Chennai, which was
widely affected by a severe Chikungunya outbreak.
Operating under the direction of
Mr. Bhavanesh Kumar Deora, Shreyans Foundation is unparalleled in their participation
in relief operations across the country for the past 27 years.
