“Naatrangaal” Trust

“Naatrangaal” is the Tamil word for nursery, where saplings are protected till they are ready for planting. Functioning under the guiding principle of equal opportunity for all, the Naatrangaal trust helps children from poor and underprivileged backgrounds with education and basic needs.

Children under the care of this group receive medical, academic and other care. The trust offers children safe, clean shelter and healthy, nourishing meals. Naatrangaal runs training programs that inform children about educational opportunities and build awareness about social responsibility and ethics.

As part of the training it offers to children, the trust pays equal attention to both academic and recreational activities. With the help of this trust, a boy hailing from the Narikurava community (Indian gypsies, a chronically neglected and downtrodden group) is now pursuing polytechnic diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Twenty male and female students are currently being schooled by this trust. Managed by Mrs. Sarada Devi, The Naatrangaal Trust is a beacon of hope for orphaned, destituted and underprivileged children.
